Big Thanks to All Who Helped with Yakima Bigfoot Round-Up

Just keep getting great, positive feedback on the Yakima Bigfoot Round-Up.
It will be remembered for many things - the excellent presentations, the beautiful setting at Running Springs Ranch, the gathering of bigfoot researchers, authors & enthusiasts and the long overdue tribute to Bob Gimlin and Roger Patterson.

I wanted to recognize the people that made this event a success, starting with
the organizers - James "Bobo" Fay, Paul Graves, Bob Gimlin, Mary Lukehart and yours truly. Many hours were spent between November and May getting this event together.
We had a vision for the bigfoot round-up and thanks to everyone who helped, participated and attended, it came to fruition.

Tom, Gary, Bobo, Mary & Paul - "where's Bob?"
(a satisfied Sunday group photo)

The Presenters
Bill Munns, R. Scott Nelson, Derek Randles, Christoper L. Murphy, Dr. John Bindernagel, Dmitry Pirkulov, Kathy Moskowitz Strain & Dr. Jeff Meldrum.

Wow! that's a line-up...comparable to the famous Yankee batting order of the 1930s.
They participated and traveled to the Yakima Bigfoot Round-Up mostly at their own expense. They put in long hours on their presentations and it showed.
David Hancock - thank you for coming and participating in the Tribute dinner.

(L. to R.: Jeff Meldrum, Kathy Moskowitz Strain, Bob Gimlin, Derek Randles, John Bindernagel, Christopher L. Murphy, Bill Munns, Dmitry Pirkulov & R. Scott Nelson)

And to all the bigfoot/sasquatch researchers whose very presence made this
a memorable and exciting event for all, THANK YOU for being here!

the Amazing Volunteers!

Lesley Solunac and her husband, Alex.
They came, they saw, they conquered!
All who attended know who Lesley is...she managed the Bigfoot Round-Up with the assistance of Dianne Humphrey and kept the records of all transactions we had to deal with - including the t-shirt & wine sales.
It wouldn't have been the same event without them! (Photo of Lesley, Alex & Bobo)

Scott McClean
the artist who designed the Yakima Bigfoot Round-Up logo, poster and t-shirt also
spent every minute of every presentation at the computer & projector making sure
the overhead images ran smoothly.
(Photo: Scott with Bob Gimlin.)

Paul Graves
the sound man! Set it up and kept it working. Another essential role that went off without a hitch.

Cecil B. Feeder
Our director of the Bigfoot Round-Up DVD (due out this summer), Cecil was side-by-side with Scott "in the trenches" for each presentation. He captured the event on high-definition video and that was no easy task. He even had the camera out at all hours to round out the round-up coverage.

John & Karen Witherspoon
Provided the field barbeque for our lunch and 3 of the portable shades used by the authors and vendors. The sun came out in force on Saturday and their contribution
to the event was invaluable.

Brandon Tennant
Proprietor of Falling Rock Productions in Pocatello, Idaho, Brandon made and delivered all of the Bigfoot Round-Up t-shirts. He also was essential during registration as he distributed all the pre-ordered shirts. His contribution to the event was huge and very generous! (You can also contact Falling Rock Productions
for post-event t-shirt orders. (208) 234-2785 )

Jessica Phillips
Stepping in during the craziest times to help out - registration on Friday.
Jessica distributed the wine orders and handled all our last minute nametags.
She and Jim Sorensen came all the way from Florida and their generosity with their
time was invaluable. sure good to have great friends.
(photo: Jim, Tom and Jessica enjoying good company.)

Terry Smith
I can say with certainty that the Bigfoot Round-Up would NOT have been the same
without his generous support. At every step along the way, Terry was there to help with advice and then back it up with the support we needed.

Bob Strain
the "consigliere" of the Yakima Bigfoot Round-Up and the one who assisted when we most needed it. He and Kathy are very good friends to Bob Gimlin and myself, and Bob's role in the Round-Up wasn't seen by many but made the event what it was.
Bob helped organize the tribute to Bob Gimlin and Roger Patterson.
(Photo Bob, Tom & Kathy at the campfire.)

Geoff Robinson
Came through in the clutch with a projector for the event. His contribution
was essential and he was generous with his time as well.

Kirk Casey
Got on board late in the process and contributed immensely. He brought and cooked
close to 100 lbs. of fresh, Puget Sound prawns! Wow. His son, Cole, was also
there helping and enjoying the Round-Up.

Linda Steigers, Sarah Sherman, Judy and Brian Horton, and all who helped with the
barbeque lunch.

Steve Wilcox - an amazing local artist and friend who created the Native American
lances and shield we had as door prizes!!

and Tyler Bounds for bringing the Skookum Brewery's finest brews!

The Running Springs Ranch family of friends provided essential support during the weekend. Gary & Mary Lukehart, Rick Andrews, Ben Baumgarten, Ralph Baumgarten, Dale and Kristen Clemonts and Derek (?last name eludes me).
You could always ask someone wearing a red bandana for assistance and their pleasant, hard-working attitude made for a problem-free event.
THANKS especially to Mike Rosenbush for making all the signs at the event!

Jamie Jackson was essential getting the pasture ready for camping.
Dale Southwick came through with an emergency store errand.
Cliff Barackman brought footprint casts and descriptions for our cast display.
Thom Powell brought the back-up projector.

Here's a list of sponsors and contributors to the Yakima Bigfoot Round-Up!!

Yakima Bigfoot Round-Up Exceeds Expectations

The Yakima Bigfoot Round-Up held on May 15, 16 * 17, 2009 was a huge success on many
levels. The gathering at Running Springs Ranch in Naches, WA was attended by over 250 people and guests came from as far away as the Eastern United States, Australia and Russia!

For now, enjoy the photographs.

(NOTE: If the slideshow moves too fast, select VIEW ALBUM to scroll through the photos manually.)

The conference portion of the program featured new, high-level analyses of the Patterson-Gimlin film as well as the Sierra Sounds recordings.

(CLICK ON PHOTOS FOR LARGER VERSION)

Many authors, bigfoot researchers and notable enthusiasts were in attendance. This was truly a Spring Rendezvous of the bigfoot community. They enjoyed a weekend of talks, conversation, music and good food.
Paul Graves, Lil Liza Jane and a croaky voiced yours truly provided the entertainment...along with surprise performer John Mionczynski!

More reporting will follow along with a list of people who made this event
possible...

most notably, the dedicated volunteers and the host family and their
friends at Running Springs Ranch.

Bigfoot Songs LIVE in Reno, Nevada

The bigfoot songs have "been very, very good to me." Thanks to the great people I know in "bigfooting" and the reception the songs receive.

I've blogged about playing at gigs in Sacramento and Humboldt County, California, and it's always been a great experience to get up and play a song or two between sets. Never more so than in Shelter Cove, CA with NPK and the Divebombers. And then there's the legendary first performance with Bobo at Slim's in San Francisco, CA with Bargain Music.

I recorded three bigfoot songs in March with the members of SexRat and they turned out great. They will someday be mixed and released as b-sides.

Last Saturday (May 2), we had the chance to play at a CD release party for the Reno-based band, Del Mar. They're a rockin', punk surf-band with a great new cd
called "After the Quake" (on Half of Nothing Records, Sacramento, CA).
We rented a gorilla costume and had the rocking bongo contribution from Bud Gaugh,
drummer of Del Mar (who also was a member of the epic band Sublime.)
Sounds cool and it was! Here's the video proof... Enjoy!
Bud digs the bigfoot songs!! he rocks!

Back on the Blog...what's been up? the Yakima Bigfoot Round-Up

hello friends,
it's been a while since my last post. Hope you're enjoying
the Spring. We've been busy getting plans in place and everything
arranged for the Yakima Bigfoot Round-Up.

We have not posted information about this event on the internet
because once we sold all the tickets, we didn't see a need
to promote the event any further. Now, though, it's time to
discuss what IS going to happen at the Bigfoot Round-Up.

First of all, it is sold out.

We regret that not everyone who wants to attend, will be able to do so.
We will not accommodate walk-up attendance. No tickets are available.
We are at capacity, possilby over, and the priority has to be how we can
successfully put on this event for the enjoyment of our guests.

So, what is going to happen at this conference / gathering?
Enthusiasm is high as we approach the date - one week from today.
As stated on the poster, the presentations will address the best evidence
about the sasquatch/bigfoot and examine the Patterson-Gimlin film.

(click on it for larger version)

I'll post our schedule of activities and presentations and our latest
flyer. We are excited about the topics and information that will be discussed.
Thank you to everyone participating in the Bigfoot Round-Up!
we regret we cannot exceed 250 attendees and guests.
We will be reporting on the event here and elsewhere...stay tuned.
