Jerry Crew Knew What To Do - 50 years ago
It's been a while since I've blogged...hope you all are doing well.
Since the last outing in mid-August, things have been busy...mostly with family events and the other sides of life. In the bigfoot world, I received an exciting email on August 22nd. It was on my YouTube account (bigfootsongs04) and it was from Jerry Crew's son, Wade! He had seen the performance of my song "Jerry Crew (He Knew What To Do)" (co-written by James "Bobo" Fay)and sent along the following message:
"“Dad would've been proud...a little embarrassed too, but that's the way he was. You got it right – he always knew what to do. His unspoken motto: "Do it, do it right, and get it over with.”
We exchanged contact info and had a brief phone conversation a week or so later. I really appreciate the historic aspects of the bigfoot phenomenon...and so getting to speak with Jerry Crew's son was an honor. I have written a short piece about Jerry for this month's newsletter at the Bigfoot Discovery Museum.
For now, let me share with you the photos that Wade Crew was kind enough to share with me! And let's remember Jerry Crew - 50 years ago he had the presence of mind to
make a plaster cast of an extraordinary track he found "at work" and brought it out for the world to see! He certainly "knew what to do"!!
